Product Description: Keyboard Town PALS' "Learn to Type" is the only typing program for kids on the market that teaches using association; no repetitive games, no drills, no timed-tests, no counting mistakes, and therefore no stress. Children type along at their own pace as puppets use music, humor and memory techniques to teach kids touch typing. Software is available in both CD-ROM and web-based versions.
Computer Requirements: Keyboard Town PALS’ "Learn To Type" CD-ROM or web-based typing program for kids is compatible for PC and Mac computers with Flash Player Version 8 or Later Installed.
Keyboard Town PALS is not some kid's typing online game. It is much more than that. Online typing games for kids focus on flashy animations, tests, and rankings. Children's typing programs give kids repetitive drills and exercises. These types of programs can be stressful to a child learning to type and can quickly turn them away from the program.
Online typing games and most typing programs out there emphasize how many words per minute you will be able to type by the end of them. Keyboard Town PALS' "Learn to Type" won't teach your child to type 60 words per minute. KTP may only teach your child to type fifteen or twenty words per minute. BUT, within only one hour, our typing program will have your kids properly typing their first words while looking at the screen and loving it!
With Keyboard Town PALS' "Learn to Type," you get a CD-ROM or a web based program that plays engaging video lessons as children type along at their own pace and are taught by puppets in a fictitious town called Keyboard Town. Our lovable puppets, voiced by Jeff Bergman from Warner Brothers and Hanna Barbera Studios, teach the location of the 30 letters and symbols on the keyboard. Music, humor and association are used to teach, not boring drills and endless exercises.
Once kids have begun to use the typing program, they are able to actually type their own emails to their favorite puppets on our free virtual journal. This unprecedented engagement with the program, cements and sharpens the touch typing skills taught on the video. This interactive experience encourages children to use their new-found skills to express themselves and be creative with their typing. All emails are then answered by teachers on our staff with early childhood development backgrounds.
