Keyboard Town PALS Play Mat is a companion product to the CD-ROM. Help reinforce the lessons learned with our colorful Play Mat. On the front of the Play Mat is a picture of a keyboard, showing the 30 letters and symbols and their corresponding puppet. The back of the Play Mat displays a blank keyboard and the left and right hands. Children will have fun drawing on the keyboard and the hands, using markers to fill in the correct letters. The Play Mat is erasable.

The Keyboard Town PALS Play Mat offers teachers the option to review the location of the 30 letters and symbols on the keyboard with their students  without requiring computer lab time. The Play Mat displays the fictional town with  the all letters and puppets on their keys. The children may remain  in the classroom, seated at their desks with the Play Mat in front of them. The teacher, using the prepared script (For the teachers’ convenience, the script is in the Independent Activities file loaded on the CD-ROM under Virtual Journal.) reads aloud as the children place their fingers on the Play Mat’s keyboard and simulates typing on a computer keyboard. Studies show that simulating practice is very productive.
